PERMANENT BUILDING FACILITIES FOR THE FINKE DESERT RACE START FINISH LINE

With the Finke Desert Race event growing bigger every year, it has become evident that improved facilities for race control and competitor management is urgently required. The Finke Desert Race Inc Committee, last night, has approved plans for a new race control building that will house all the computer electronics, transponder management room, communications, race results, staff and volunteers to manage the race over 3 days. The building will include an upper level for the race commentators and big screen technicians. The new building will have a kitchen, rest area, space for Grid Girls and trackside volunteers, as well as room for CAMS and MA officials. This is a big and positive step for the future of the Tatts Finke Desert Race.
